Authentication data
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a stable account identifier from Google. We use this to create and recognise your cargMT account and to attribute reports you submit while signed in. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Cookies & session duration
A signed session cookie keeps you signed in. It is set to expire automatically; signing out or clearing it ends the session immediately. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Report content
When you submit a report, we store the station or charging unit, the category you selected, and any optional note (up to 280 characters) you write. Do not include personal information about yourself or others in a note.
Report-time location
Where location is used to place a new station suggestion or verify a correction, we store the coordinates and accuracy at the moment of submission. This is used only to place and validate the report — it is not used to track your movements over time and is not shown to other users as your personal location.
Analytics
We use self-hosted, privacy-conscious product analytics (Umami) to understand which features are used and to spot broken flows. Analytics events do not include your name, email, or precise location, and are not linked back to your account identity.
Moderation
Administrators can review, hide, or unhide reports and station suggestions that appear abusive, false, or spam. Moderation actions are logged internally for accountability.
Retention
Account and report data is retained for as long as your account is active. Hidden or moderated content is retained for abuse-review purposes rather than deleted outright. We aim to remove data no longer needed for these purposes on a rolling basis.
Account & data deletion
To request deletion of your account or the personal data associated with it, contact us at [email protected]. We will confirm once your request has been actioned.
Security & administrative access
Access to the underlying database and admin tools is restricted to a small number of maintainers and protected by separate, non-public credentials. Admin actions are distinct from ordinary sign-in and cannot be granted merely by being logged in.
